A 66-year-old man, hospitalized at the Guam Memorial Hospital since Dec. 3, became Guam’s 121st COVID-19-related death, according to the Joint Information Center.

The man had underlying conditions and was a known positive, according to a release. He died at about 11:22 a.m. Dec. 22 at GMH.

Also, 27 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Dec. 22, from 747 tests performed the day before. That brings Guam’s overall COVID-19 confirmed case count to 7,238 cases.

Of that total, 121 have died, 449 cases are in active isolation and 6,668 cases are no longer in isolation.

Of the 27 new cases, five were identified through contact tracing while one case reported recent travel and was indentified in quarantine.
