Guam Police Department detectives arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a Dec. 8 assault of a 77-year-old woman in Sinajana, according to Sgt. Paul Tapao, GPD spokesman.

Jeremy Janell Alvarez was arrested on suspicion of:

attempted murder;
aggravated assault;
assault;
use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony; and
family violence.
Police responded to the home on Afame Road on Tuesday. Medics also were on site and transported the woman to Naval Hospital Guam for treatment. She sustained head injuries, Tapao said in a statement.

GPD’s Criminal Investigation Division identified Alvarez in connection with the case and transported him to headquarters, where he was interviewed. He was later arrested.

Alvarez was booked and confined and the case was sent to the AG’s office for prosecution.
