The Guam National Tennis Federation will be organizing a free International Tennis Federation Play+Stay coaching course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26-27 and Jan. 2-3, 2021, at the Guam National Tennis Center in Harmon.

“Coaching is a critical element of development, the more coaches we can get properly trained, the more players we can develop,” said Torgun Smith, the president of the federation.

Joe Cepeda, the chairperson of the coaches education committee for the Guam National Tennis Federation, serves as a tennis ball in this file provided by the federation.
The coaching course is designed for those who are new to coaching or want to enhance their coaching careers. Eligibility applies to players 16 years and older, parents and teachers who want to learn entry level coaching.

The program also applies to high school tennis coaches.

“The federation’s coaches education committee is excited to launch its first program and looks forward to more in the future,” said Joe Cepeda, the committee’s chairperson.
