Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero issued a statement on Tuesday telling government of Guam employees that they would not have to wait until Friday for their regular paychecks.

“In the spirit of this holiday season, payday will come a little earlier this week on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020,” Leon Guerrero said in a news release.

Leon Guerrero said she is proud of the GovGuam employees who have come together during a crisis to continue to provide essential government services.

Governor’s spokeswoman Krystal Paco-San Agustin said that the early payday is just that, and is not a holiday. Government employees would normally receive their paychecks this Friday, Dec. 26.
